Women Rising Conference Updates!

By Kristen M. Fragnoli

R I S E

Greetings from FLX Women!  I am writing to provide an update about progress on the Women Rising conference scheduled for November 1, 2019.

We have three fantastic organizations as beneficiaries of the proceeds:

Family Promise of Ontario County seeks to unite the faith community, volunteer organizations and existing agencies in Ontario county to provide a pathway for homeless children and their families to secure reliable housing and self sufficiency. Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program provides women the opportunity to take proactive steps in serving their community and supports the Habitat mission of building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter, creating a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes provides services, at no charge, for individuals, children and families who have experienced sexual assault, sexual abuse and interpersonal violence including counseling services, legal support and advocacy.

Supporting the work of these important organizations is one way FLX Women is seeking to make change. Another is by offering dynamic and transformative leadership experiences for women in the Finger Lakes and beyond so they can bring their gifts to the world, tap their personal potential and live a life of meaning and impact.

Our inaugural conference planning is well underway; we have secured our “main stage” speakers and have approximately one week left to receive additional proposals for breakout session speakers (deadline April 30- see the events page). The program is going to be dynamic and empowering! Our main lineup includes a diverse set of women including a storyteller from Ganondagan, two published authors, a women’s community organizer, a leadership development coach and a soulful, international musician/activist – this will be a conference like none other you have attended!

Sponsorships continue to roll in which means we will be more able to provide donations to our beneficiary organizations next fall. We are pleased to share that Canandaigua National Bank has not only provided a diamond sponsorship – the highest level – but has committed to support our efforts as a diamond sponsor for five years!  We also have generous sponsorships from Quest Potential Leadership Coaching, Super Casuals Inc., F. Oliver’s, HR Works, Waterstone Financial Services and many generous individuals!  Supporting women and girls is work that resonates within our community and we are grateful for all the enthusiastic support we are receiving. Of course, additional sponsorships are welcome and can be directed to support@flxwomen.com.  Each additional sponsor dollar we receive will support the beneficiary agencies doing such life-changing work in the Finger Lakes.

Conference registration will open on June 1, 2019 and we expect to sell out the approximately 200 seats that will be available. Spread the word and register early so you don’t miss the chance to experience this transformative day! We will dialog about using our own power and building our resilience, coming together to actively make change and resist unjust systems and we will connect in radical ways – across difference and with our authentic voices – to rise together. We will leave the day uplifted and with new leadership skills to apply in all areas of our lives. We are Women Rising! Join us!

Of course, for more information or to sponsor the conference, feel free to reach out at any time!

In support of your success,

Kristen
